This blog is for me simply to share my thoughts and choices. In no way do I hope to imply that anyone's choices are less than my own, or that every woman needs to make the same choices that I made. A lot of the choices that accompany marriage, while seemingly small, are loaded with controversy and, unfortunately, women in our society are made to feel that their choices aren't quite good enough, whether their choices are from a traditional or modern perspective. Please feel free to share your experiences in the comments. I look forward to the conversation!

Why this blog exists
I didn't expect that marriage would happen so soon for me in life. Yet, I found myself engaged just under three months after I graduated college. Two years later, after fumbling our way into the career world, we are now celebrating three months of marriage. We are quite happy together, however, we have noticed how the loving sentiments that accompany a recent wedding often come loaded with gendered (and oftentimes, slightly misogynistic) tendencies. I hope to share my experiences and thoughts, particularly to start a conversation about what marriage means in modern times, particularly for women, as it was often our only rite of passage.
